Woodburners with airwash systems
Sometimes choosing a stove can be daunting - but we’re here to help you make a decision you’re happy with. Once you’ve decided on the basics you might like to consider additional features - such as an airwash system.
How airwash systems work
Airwash systems work by taking air into the stove from the top and “washing it” down across the glass front - “cleaning” the glass for you! It’s simple but very effective.
Washing the window of your woodburner
Of course the air isn’t really washing the window. What it’s doing is forming a kind of barrier which helps keep the flames away from the glass. So as the wood burns the glass stays free from tar.
Avoid tar build up!
In stoves that don’t have airwash systems tar from burning wood tends to get deposited on the glass. This looks unsightly, obscures the flames and makes the stove difficult to clean.
The benefits of an airwash system
A stove with an airwash system:
- cleans itself
- doesn’t suffer from tar build up
- always has a clean glass frontage - if the stove is correctly installed & sensibly used
Our range of wood burning stoves includes many that have airwash systems. Take a look or contact us for advice.
